What I'm Watching: Fallout, Quiet on Set, Conan on Hot Ones, and More
Plus: Wendy and Lucy, The Red Balloon, a long-lost silent movie, ghosts in the British Museum, and more.
Here’s a quick rundown on everything I watched, read, and wrote about this week:
The shows:
- Conan O’Brien’s utterly unhinged episode of Hot Ones really is a thing to behold. It’s a genuinely great career retrospective for the comedian, but it’s also instantly recognizable as a highlight of that career and a comedy master class. Plus, it feels like the tipping point that might finally push the hot wing-themed interview show over the edge in public estimation, from a popular Youtube gimmick to one of the most sincerely interesting interview shows of our era. Someone needs to put this on DVD, because it’s far too instantly iconic to exist only on the internet.
